A 75 percent discount on ticket price for transportation onboard Jat Airways planes will be allowed for 155 scholars of the Republic of Serbia Fund for Young Talents who study in European Union Countries and at leading world Universities. The discount vouchers were presented to the scholars by Snežana Samardžić Mirković, the Minister of Youth and Sport, and Srdjan Radovanović, Jat Airways Director General, at the ceremony in the Palace of Serbia.
 In May this year, Jat Airways signed the Agreement on Cooperation with the Republic of Serbia Fund for Young Talents, thus becoming the first domestic Company to give the support to young talents. In the first generation, 97 scholars exercised their right to use cheaper air transportation. The new, second generation includes 155 scholars, of which 49 come from social studies and humanities, 10 of them study natural sciences and mathematics, 58 students of engineering and technology, 35 arts students and 3 students of medicine and sport.
The Republic of Serbia Fund for Young Talents runs under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth and Sport. Its goal is to recognize, award and help best students, not only financially, but also by supporting their professional development through the Centre for Career Counselling and Guidance of Young Talents, as well as through the cooperation with leading companies and institutions in Serbia.
 During its fifteen months existence, the Fund awarded nearly 2400 scholarships and prizes for studies abroad as well as for studies in Serbia, including the prizes for accomplishments at domestic and international competitions. Number of scholars and awarded students will increase in the following days with the arrival of 1000 students from last years of graduate and master studies at the Universities founded by the Republic of Serbia. Serbia invested more than 7 million euros in this way of State's responsible behavior toward the young talents.
At the ceremony also participated, apart from the representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sport and Jat Airways, the representatives of other organizations and companies that in the meantime joined this socially responsible drive and gave their support to the Fund, like the National Library of Serbia, the Serbian Academy of Arts and Science, the National Bank of Serbia, Telenor, Microsoft, Holcim and Serbian Volleyball Federation. |
