Agreement with Jat Tehnika signed

The representatives of Jat Airways and Jat Tehnika signed the Agreement on Business Cooperation in Belgrade on June, 5th. Veljko Basarić, Jat Airways Executive Director, and Srdjan Mišković, Jat Tehnika Director, signed the Agreement in the presence of Saša Vlaisavljević, Jat Airways Board of Directors Chairman, and Aleksandar Antić, Director of Jat Tehnika Shareholders Assembly. The terms of this agreement with Jat Tehnika are more favorable for Jat Airways and by signing it Jat Airways completes the process concerning the new business policy.

This agreement is more flexible that the previous one. Total price of the agreement has not been set forth, so every segment of overhauling and servicing process shall be regulated by the specific annex. Jat Tehnika shall receive payment from Jat Airways for every performed service, in accordance with the agreed price list, which shall be in the range of the price lists in the neighboring countries.

Thus, Jat Airways continues implementation of the its Business Turnaround Plan envisaged for the period of time between the years 2003 and 2013 and approved by the Serbian Government in October 2008. Three out of four envisaged segments of this plan have been fulfilled.

The realization of the above mentioned segments gave the following results:

  • The number of the employees in the Company has been significantly reduced without major turbulences. In the course of the past year, over 500 employees left the Company so that number of employees came from 1,822 to 1,340 employees. At the Board of Directors meeting held on May, 29th, new job systematization with maximum of 1200 work posts was adopted.
  • Rejuvenation of the Company has been initiated with 50 young stewards and stewardesses and 70 volunteers, which have been given a chance to show their abilities.
  • The number of offices abroad has been reduced – from 49 to 25 delegated representatives. Offices have been moved from the exclusive areas in world metropolis to the airport.
  • Jat Airways has shifted in full to the electronic ticketing while on - line ticket sale and the sale via call center introduced over a year ago record highest share in Jat Airways total ticket sale. Thus, Jat Airways has offered lower prices to its passengers and at the same time became closer to its passengers and more available to them.
  • The International Air Transportation Association (IATA) awarded Jat Airways for the third consecutive time with an IOSA (International Operational Safety Audit) certificate. The highest marks stipulated in the certificate confirm that Jat Airways has attained, was maintaining and upgrading the highest civil aviation standards in the area of technical maintenance and air traffic safety prescribed by IATA.
  • One of the most up–to-date ALSIM ALX FNPT II flight simulators for twin-engine aircraft has been purchased. This will allow improved training quality as well as shorter and cheaper training.

Beginning June 2008, Jat Airways is recognized for the new uniforms of its flight and cabin crews, commercial personnel and passenger handling workers.

Jat Airways is about to enter the forth segment of the Plan, which concerns the purchase of new fleet. For that reason, three - member group has been formed, in charge with Captain Nenad Petrović, flight instructor and vice-president of Jat Airways Board of Directors. This group will meet with all prospective plane manufacturers and inform the Board of Directors thereof.

Development policy and implementation of technical innovations bring Jat Airways another step further on its way of re-establishing its former position as the regional leader.
