The representatives of Jat Airways and MAT signed today the Intention agreement in order to find the best possible business solution for the national airlines of Serbia and Macedonia. The agreement was signed by Saša Vlaisavljević, the Acting Director General of Jat Airways, and Zlatko Petrovski, the president of MAT's Board of Directors, in presence of Vladimir Ognjenović, the commercial director of Jat Airways and Bratislav Radojević, Flight Operations Manager of Macedonian airline.
In order to find the best business solution, a possibility of various types of cooperation was discussed, starting with the commercial cooperation, through technical and even the changes in the ownership structure of MAT were taken into consideration.
By bringing the partnership of two Companies at higher level, Jat Airways proved once more its determination to become the regional leader. The bigger role of Jat Airways in this market will provide and enhance the services to Macedonian passengers.
For some years now, the market of Macedonia is of great regional interest among the companies in south-east Europe, in the first place due to the fact that in the year 2008 the Airport of Skoplje provided services for more than 660 000 passengers. As the only one national airline, MAT provided services for 37 per cent of all passengers on the flights to Zurich, Vienna, Dusseldorf, Rome, Istanbul, Hamburg, Berlin and Amsterdam. Summer timetable of Jat Airways will offer two flights a day to and from Skoplje, one flight in the morning and another one in the afternoon, in order to provide the fastest and the best possible connections with all the destinations covered by the transport air network of Jat Airways.
