Jat Results for First Six Months in 2008

In the first six months this year, Jat Airways carried a total of 578,781 passengers, 1,438 tonnes of cargo and 280 tonnes of mail. Compared to the same period last year, this is a nine-percent increase in the passenger number. The cabin load factor (CLF) for this period stood at 60 percent, effecting a 5-percentage point rise, while the weight load factor (WLF) was up four percentage points. The number of Montenegro-bound passengers rose nine percent, and of those on the Euro-Mediterranean lines – eight percent, while charter traffic recorded an increase of as much as 30 percent.

In the first half-year, Jat aircraft logged 17,800 flight hours, a two-percent increase on the last year's levels. The number of flight hours the ATR-72 aircraft recorded was 13 percent up against the same period in 2007. The B-737-300 fleet exceeded the plan by six percent. The B-737-400 aircraft went 179 percent beyond the planned levels. The B-737-400 was not planned to fly in the first four months of this year.

The average daily flight-hour level for the entire fleet for the January-June period of 2008 was 8:53 block hours, the highest daily number of flight hours being logged by the B-737-300 fleet - 9:48 hours.

 

Physical Volume of Traffic in June

In June 2008, Jat Airways carried 141 thousand passengers on 2,072 flights, an 11-percent rise against the same month last year. The recorded CLF was highest ever and stood at 65 percent, a four percentage-point increase.

The planned level of carried passengers was surpassed by 11 percent, of cargo – by eight percent, while the quantity of transported mail dropped two percent below planned. The CLF exceeded the planned level by one percentage point, while the WLF went beyond planned by six percentage points, as the planned number of flight hours was outdone by six percent. The offer parameters on overall traffic went up some four percent on the June 2007 level, while the realization indicators recorded a rise of some 11 percent, inviting also a rise in the capacity use coefficient.

Charter traffic recorded the highest increase in carried passengers – 26 percent, while at the same time effecting a 12-percent rise in the flights number compared to June 2007.

Last month, Jat Airways aircraft logged 3,685 block hours, a six-percent rise against the planned levels and three-percent higher than last year. The ATR-72 aircraft increased the number of flight hours by seven percent compared to the same month last year, while the B-737-300 fleet exceeded the plan by 24 percent.

The average daily flight-hour levels for the entire fleet for June stood at 10:24 hours - six hours over the plan. The highest daily aggregate in terms of flight hours was recorded by the B-737-300 fleet - 11:31 hours.
