Jat Airways Relocates Podgorica Office

As part of Jat Airways 81st anniversary ceremony, the Serbian flag carrier's office in Podgorica will be - beginning June 18 – opened at no. 25 Njegoševa St.

In keeping with modern ways of doing business, primarily e-ticketing, that demand reorganized and upgraded sales network, the office was relocated to more fitting premises. The office space was designed in accordance with Jat unified brand standards, and passengers purchasing air tickets at this point from now on can count on new and higher standards of service.

The move came as Jat's response to the trust passengers from Montenegro, as testified to by the excellent business results achieved on this market. In the first four months of this year, the number of passengers on the Podgorica-Belgrade line rose 21 percent, as the cabin load factor (CLF) increased by 25 percent. This office recorded net sales amounting to 740 thousand euros, which is 3 percent up on the same period last year.

Jat Airways has good reason for optimism that this positive trend in growth regarding the market in Montenegro would continue throughout the summer season.

Jat operates three flights a day to Podgorica – one morning and two afternoon flights. Beginning June 20, the Serbian carrier will perform five to seven daily flights to Tivat. Passengers from Montenegro have excellent connecting flights via Belgrade to all destinations flown by Jat.

On the Montenegrin market, Jat Airways operates in conditions of very good cooperation with Montenegro Airlines, as the main and serious partner with whom it is planning further market appearances. To these ends, the two companies' directors-general are shortly to sign an SPA, agreement on commercial cooperation.

Jat is to continue the drive in the same vein extending its unified brand standards in Montenegro. Thus, the premises of Jat office in Budva will also undergo a makeover in this respect.

The Belgrade-Sarajevo-Podgorica was opened by Jat's predecessor - Aeroput – as early as in 1930. In 1938, the line was extended to include Tirana. The Belgrade-Podgorica-Bar line was introduced in 1940, thus for the first time connecting the Montenegrin littoral with the interior of what was then a single country. The Belgrade-Podgorica direct line was operated three times a week as of April 8, 1946. After World War II, the first to fly on this line were the C-47 aircraft modified into civilian DC-3 and Junkers 52 airplanes. In the 1950s and 1960s, the Yugoslav Airlines (JAT) continued for a period to operate also the Belgrade-Žabljak and the Belgrade-Ivangrad (Berane) lines.
