Electronic Ticketing for All Jat Airways Lines

E-ticketing is one of the steps the Serbian national air company, Jat Airways, was strenuously working to achieve towards upgrading own service and remaining competitive on the markets it appears on shoulder-to-shoulder with top world air carriers.

Beginning May 10 this year, Jat Airways made possible e-ticketing for all flights it operates with its own aircraft. In keeping with IATA (International Air Transport Association) decision to discontinue as of June 1, 2008 supplying its authorized agents with paper tickets, Jat Airways has since November 2007 to-date made e-ticketing possible for 72 flights on which the Serbian national air company is operating carrier. The process implies choosing agents capable of conducting passenger handling in terms of e- ticketing for all destinations Jat Airways aircraft fly on as well as testing acceptance of e-ticketing on the part of the handling agents.

As regards code-sharing flights on which Jat Airways is marketing carrier, the company has up until May 10 successfully tested electronic ticket issuing with code-share partners such as Lufthansa, Air France and CSA. By the IATA-set deadline, Jat Airways will also make possible issuing these tickets on joint flights with Austrian Airlines, Aeroflot and Alitalia.
