Jat Airways Records One of Most Successful Weeks

On April 28-May 4, 2008, Jat Airways aircraft carried 27,791 passengers, or 34 percent more than over the same period last year. The cabin load factor (CLF) for that week stood at 70 percent.

In the January 1-May 4, 2008 period, Jat Airways carried altogether 338,031 passengers, 939 tonnes of cargo and 194 tonnes of mail. Compared to the same period last year, the number of carried passengers rose 7.2 percent, the quantity of transported cargo was down by 10 percent and the quantity of mail increased by seven percent. The cabin load factor (CLF) was 57 percent and had increased by three percentage points, while the weight load factor (WLF) went up by two percentage points.

In the January-April period of this year, the number of carried passengers on the lines to Montenegro rose by 16 percent and on the Euro-Mediterranean destinations - by three percent. Charter traffic recorded a 23-percent increase in the number of carried passengers.

In the first four months of this year, Jat Airways aircraft logged 10,930 block hours, which is a two-percent increase on the same period last year. The daily average for the entire fleet for the January-April 2008 period was 8:28 block hours. The B-737-300 fleet recorded the highest daily number of block hours - 9:16, while the ATR-72 aircraft logged 7:20 block hours, and the B-737-400 airplanes - 6:33 block hours.
