Traffic in October

In the month of October of 2006, Jat Airways carried 93,775 passengers, 384 tonnes of cargo and 60 tonnes of mail. Compared to the same month last year, the number of passengers carried rose 18 percent as did also cargo and mail - 14 percent each. The cabin load factor stood at 57 percent, a 4.2 index increase against the same month of last year.

The Plan was exceeded by 16 percent, even though the parameters of the offer in overall traffic went up about 7.5 percent compared to the October 2005 levels. Two percent more passengers, 49 percent more cargo and 80 percent more mail were transported than planned. The Jat Airways’ cabin load factor index rose by 2 above the planned and the overall load factor index by 11, as Jat covered 91 percent of the planned number of flight hours.

As regards traffic with Montenegro, the number of flights compared to last year was stepped up 8 percent, as the number of carried passengers was up 30 percent. In the Euro-Mediterranean traffic, the number of flights went up 10 percent, while the number of passengers increased 17 percent. The number of charter flights increased 23 percent, and of passengers - 5 percent.

Air-traffic regularity stood at 75 percent, as its index compared to last year rose by 4, while landing regularity was much lower and is 62 percent. If reasons for the up to 15-minute delays had been eliminated, the regularity recorded would have stood at 86 percent. Waiting for flights on the preceding lines was the most frequent cause for delays. Regularity at Belgrade airport is 78 percent, topping October 2005 levels by 5 index points.

In October, Jat Airways recorded an average daily flight-hour level of eight hours. The B-737-300’s exceeded the plan by 40 percent and last year’s figures by 28 percent.

All the parameters point to Jat having recorded growth in traffic in the January-October period of 2006. In ten months, it carried 1,056,007 passengers, 2,937 tonnes of cargo and 572 tonnes of mail. Compared to the same period last year, the number of transported passengers rose 19 percent. There was 14 percent more mail carried and three percent cargo less, as the average cabin load factor recorded was 59 percent, a 2 index rise against last year’s figures.
