Best Travel PhotoTo mark the 35th anniversary of the New Review in-flight magazine in 2009, and its 200th edition in August 2010, Jat Media Centre is organising a Best Travel Photo contest. The contest will be open for a period of one year – from June 2009 to May 2010. At the end of each month, photos will be shortlisted for the respective month from among those submitted and the winners will ultimately be chosen from the entries thus selected. The shortlisted photos for each respective month will be printed in the following month’s issue of New Review during the August 2009 - July 2010 period. The overall winners will be printed in the magazine’s 200th issue in August 2010. Contest Entry Terms All Jat passengers, all professional and amateur photographers, Serbian nationals and those of the countries to which Jat flies, the young and the old … are eligible for participation in the Best Travel Photo contest; the sole restriction being that the photo(s) must not be taken in the author’s place of residence. The photo(s) must be taken during a journey, any journey, ranging from an outing to a nearby picnic resort to overseas travel. A second restriction stipulates that the contest is off -limits to Jat employees, including retired or former employees, as well as members of their families (first-degree relatives). Only photos taken in the course of 2009 and 2010 will be accepted. The contest will run from June 1, 2009, to June 10, 2010. All photos as contest entries received by July 10, 2009, will be eligible for shortlist consideration for the month of August. This process will be repeated each month through July 2010. Each contest participant may enter no more than three (3) photos. These must have 300 dpi resolution, maximum size of not more than 3 MB as well as be set in JPEG format. Along with each photograph, its author’s name, the title of the photo, place and time where and when it was taken, the type of camera used must also be supplied. Photographs should be sent by e-mail to the following address: photokonkurs@jat.com. New Review reserves the right to print the submitted photos in the New Review magazine, post them on the official Jat website and put them on display for the exhibition of best photographs without financial compensation. The author retains all rights to copyright. By entering photos for the contest the author thereby accepts the terms of the contest as defined under the above provisions.
Prizes First place: Seven-day holiday in Tunisia (during the off-season) for two persons with all expenses, including airfare and taxi expenses. Second place: Two free plane tickets on a regularly scheduled Jat airline Third place: Seven-day stay at Prolom Spa, for two persons, with an organised excursion to Đavolja varoš, in southern Serbia, an area known for its spectacular rock formations. First Round Results The competition for the "Best Travel Photograph" has to date (July 13, 2009) resulted in 50 entries, of which the jury − comprised of jury president Imre Szabó, photography editor for Status magazine, and jury members Milan Melka, photography editor for Jat New Review and Dejana Vranješ, art director of Jat Media Center − has chosen the three best photographs. The three finalists from the first round are candidates to win the overall competition; the winner will be announced following all twelve cycles, in August, 2010.
