Serbia: New Security Rules at Airports |
Passenger information on security measures |
In accordance with conclusions drawn by the National Security Committee of the Republic of Serbia, with the aim of meeting the requirement made by International Civil Aviation Organnization (ICAO), the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia has adopted restrictions and requirements for transport of liquids, gels and aerosols in hand luggage as well as method of performing security inspection of hand luggage.
These restrictions are enforceable on March 10, 2007, and are applicable for the purpose of prevention of possible terrorist acts in the civil aviation using liquid explosives. The restrictions are applicable to any originating passenger or passenger in transit/transfer from an airport on the territory of the Republic of Serbia. |
The following products shall be deemed as liquids:
- water and other types of drinks, soups and syrups;
- perfumes,
- mascara, sprays, creams, lotions and oils;
- gels, including hair and shower gels;
- pastes, including toothpaste;
- contents of pressurised containers, including shaving foam, other foams and deodorants;
- any other item of similar consistency.

Passenger duties and responsibilities |
Packaging method
- Liquid, gel or aerosol must be in individual containers up to 100ml each;
- Containers must be packed in a transparent re-sealable or zipped plastic bag;
- Maximal dimensions for plastic bags used for packing liquid, gel and aerosol containers must be 20x20 cm not more than one litre capacity;
- Plastic bags used for packing containers with liquids, gels and aerosols must be sealed and produced separately of all the other baggage at the screening checkpoint;
- One passenger must exclusively have one plastic bag containing liquids, gels and aerosols, with proper dimensions.
Bags for packing liquids will be available at the airports in Serbia for free for the first 30 days, and after the end of this period the bags will be available for purchase. |
The following shall be subject to exceptions:
- Carrying of liquids, gels and aerosols bought in duty free shops in security restricted areas, packed in a transparent plastic bag, which must be sealed and stay so, until reaching the final destination. The plastic bag, sealed in a duty free shop, must have a receipt for the purchased product, exclusively with the date of the travel;
- Carrying of liquid or gruel baby foods and milk in the appropriate quantities, depending on the duration of the flight;
- Carrying of medicines, in the liquid, gel or aerosol form, used solely with the medical certificate issued by the competent medical institution or authorised dispensary;
- Carrying of medical preparations such as insulin, plasma, etc. solely if passengers possess a certificate obtained from the competent medical institution.
All cable electrical devices (laptop computers, digital cameras, cameras, etc.) must be produced from the hand baggage for screening. |
IN CASES OF NON-OBSERVANCE, THE CONTENTS SHALL BE CONFISCATED AT THE SECURITY CHECKPOINT.
