Journalists of Belgrade print and electronic media were invited as guests on November 25 onboard a Jat Airways and Emirates Air promotional flight to New York.

Representatives of well-known media got to see for themselves that the new Jat Airways line to New York is the fastest, most economical, shortest and the best bargain in terms of service and comfort in the category of flights from Europe to the United States.

Cooperation between the two companies was designed to enable New York-bound passengers to reach their destination with the least amount of unnecessary delays and in maximum comfort. Jat Airways will fly three times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) to Hamburg where buses will immediately transfer passengers to the gate of Emirates Air company. Tickets bought in Belgrade for this destination have a bar code for efficient check-ins in Germany and security procedures during transfer. The current price for a 12-month return ticket on the Belgrade-Hamburg-New York line (before December 14), without taxes, is 320 euros.

After a two-hour flight from Belgrade to Hamburg on a Jat Airways Boeing- 737, it takes just one hour to conduct the formalities regarding luggage transfer and document (visas) checks and complete boarding before the Emirates' Boeing-777 takes off for New York. The Boeing-777 is equipped with the most sophisticated electronic devices ensuring maximum flight safety.

Economy and business-class passengers feel relaxed and at ease because the Emirates Air company is among the world's leading air travel companies in terms of safety, services, comfort and punctuality. Each seat has mini screens and satellite cell phones (also used as remote control for several hundred channels).

A special feature is the sophisticated technology allowing individual monitoring at any given time of the aircraft's position with regard to landmarks on the ground, weather forecast, flight altitude, wind velocity, outside air temperature and pressure.

This is achieved thanks to computer animation and cameras attached at the front, underneath, on the sides and at the back of the aircraft.

Meeting with Serbia's Ambassador and Consul in US

At Serbia's UN Mission, reporters met and spoke with Pavle Jevremović, Serbia's Ambassador to the United States, who arrived from Washington, D.C. especially for the opening of this air line important not only for Jat Airways but also for Serbia and our emigrants. At the Serbian Consulate, reporters met with Consul-General Vladimir Žutić and the highly successful businessman, P. B. Marković. Marković is one of the founders of the "Serbian Business Center" in the US, designed to create profitable organisations and establish contacts with businessmen prepared to invest capital in Serbia.

A variety of national cuisine dishes from around the world, top-quality refreshments, obliging flight attendants of various nationalities will add to your flight's comfort and serve as an introduction and preparation of sorts for contact with a country whose fundamental principles entail multiethnicity and diversity.

Warm Welcome

Jat Airways' guests were welcomed by Jat New York representative, Mr. Zoran Stjepanović. In addition to accommodations at the Park Savoy Hotel in the heart of Manhattan, reporters were taken on a guided tour with Mr. Džakulin, who is originally from Belgrade, but who has been living and working in New York for over twenty years.
