Special MealsIn addition to regular meals, Jat Airways serves a wide variety of specialty meals. Our specialty meals are divided into the following passenger categories: age (special meals for infants and the elderly), medical condition (doctor's recommendation) and religious belief. Special Meal are Free of Charge Requests for special meals should be made at the time of ticket purchase. Requests for special meals must be made at least 24 hours before a scheduled flight. Passengers are also entitled to request that their meals be free of specific items without prior notice (for example: no tomato, onions, etc...). Special meals for medical conditionsMeal for ulcer patients (BLML) – This meal, also intended for patients with chronic or acute gastritis, is prepared with cooked lean meat and is served with a side of rice or pasta. The meal is made without any seasoning, as it is recommended that persons with these medical conditions avoid such foods. Desert includes cooked fruit – apple compote for example. Meal for diabetics (DBML) – Meal is prepared without foods that cause a sharp increase in the blood's glucose level. Attention is given to finding the right balance between proteins, carbohydrates and fatty foods. The meal is prepared from lean foods and is rich in fruits and vegetables. Dairy products may be used as well as all types of fruits and vegetables, white fish and lean meat. Meal without glucose (GFML) – The meal is prepared without wheat or wheat products, yeast, or any products that have wheat flour additives. Breads are made with corn flour products and come with a producer's certificate. Foods that must be heated are separated from non-heated foods. Meal rich in vegetable fibre (HFML) – For persons with digestive tract problems, we offer a meal with foods rich in cellulose, lignin, hemi-cellulose and pectin. Only lean meat or white fish is used, while dairy products are low calorie. Any type of vegetable may be used in this meal. Meal with reduced amount of albumen (LPML) – Intended for persons with liver and kidney disease. Meals are prepared with fresh fruits and vegetables, vegetable fat and seasoning, and with a limited amount of egg and meat. Low fat/low cholesterol meal (LFML) – For persons with heart or artery disease, we offer this low-calorie and low-cholesterol meal that is prepared using lean meat, fish, fresh cheese, fruits and vegetables. The meal also has a reduced level of salt. Meal with reduced salt/natrium (LSML) – Intended for persons with high blood pressure. All foods are used in this meal, while heated foods are separated from other foods and do not include salt. All foods are fresh or fresh frozen. No salted, smoked or preserved meats are used. All types of grains and grain products may be used, as well as all types of vegetables. Low calorie meal (LCML) – Suitable for persons who control their energy intake. Meals are prepared with a limited amount of albumen, while no fried or breaded foods are used in heated food products. All foods are either cooked or grilled and all meats and fish are lean. Lactose free meal (NLML) – Prepared without any milk or dairy byproducts. Prepared with meat, fish, poultry, breads with no dairy products, fresh fruits and vegetables. Meal with reduced purin (PRML) – This meal with reduced levels of purina is intended for persons suffer from gihta. Food products include pasta, cheese, vegetables (excluding asparagus, cauliflower, spinach and mushrooms), fruit, egg, white fish, milk and dairy products. Food is served without meat or meat byproducts. Special meals (SPML) – This is the symbol for special meals that are not part of our standard special meal offering. Meals prepared according to religious beliefsHindu meal (HNML) – Prepared without beef, beef byproducts, or pork. Meals are prepared with traditional seasonings that are available in Serbia and Montenegro. All types of fruits and vegetables and fish may be used in the meal (excluding carrots and celery), without any alcohol additives. Meal without pork (MOML) – Prepared without any pork, pork byproducts, gelatin, or alcohol (wine sauces). The vegetarian meal (VGML) may be a substitute for this meal as it is made exclusively of vegetable products. Another option is the SFML, a meal prepared with fruits, vegetables, fish and vegetable fat. Passengers may also make special requests to suit their dietary needs. Children's mealsBaby meal (BBML) – This meal for children under two years old is served in the manufacturer's original packaging. Children's meal (CHML) – A meal for children from 2 - 6 years of age. The meal is prepared using reduced amounts of seasoning. Other Special MealsAsian/Indian vegetarian meal (AVML) – This meal is prepared exclusively of vegetable and vegetable products with characteristic seasoning. Meals include food products that are readily available in the local market as well as available seasoning. Baked goods are made of integral flour. Fruit meal (FPML) – Prepared from fresh fruits without additives, or with preserved fruits without added sugar. Oriental meal (ORML) – Made with food products available in Serbia and Montenegro. Meals prepared with raw fruits and vegetables (RVML) – Prepared exclusively from non-heated fresh fruits and vegetables. The meal is made without any fat, gelatin, egg, meat, meat products, fish or shellfish. Dairy products and integral grains may be used. Vegetarian meal with dairy products and eggs (VLML) – Animal products include dairy products, eggs and egg-products. Vegetarian meal (VGML) – Fish meal (SFML) – Prepared with fish, vegetables, eggs, fruits and carbohydrate products. Meals are prepared with only vegetable fat. |
